Isn’t it funny how a food can take you back years? That is what the this recipe does for me. Takes me back to the 70′s and to elementary school. Ok …I am telling my age just a bit here but that is alright. This was when school lunch was a meal and not pizza and when the rolls were made from scratch, those were the days. I can not believe the menus now as to what is served at school. But this was one treat that I loved at school and luckily my mom had connections high up… (a friend that worked in the cafeteria) and she got the recipe for mom, broken down to family size. So I had this treat often, baked fresh and waiting on me to walk in the door from school for years and now I bake it myself for my daughter.
Though it makes a 9×13 treat ….it don’t last long around here. So if you are out picking up the ingredients pick up twice what you will need because they will be wanting more soon.
Hey, it’s gotta be good for you it has oatmeal in it! Right?
