Southern Fried Sweet Potatoes?

If you haven’t, you don’t know what you are missing!

Fried to perfection and covered with a caramelly glaze! This recipe is simple and takes sweet potatoes to a new level.

Southern Fried Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 average sized sweet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cups of brown sugar

Instructions:

  • Peel potatoes and slice in approx 1/4-1/2 inch slices. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat and add potatoes cook turning as needed until browned. Once browned cover with a lid and allow to cook just until tender approximately 15-20 minutes, turning as needed to prevent burning. Add butter and sprinkle on salt and brown sugar, reduce heat to low or simmer, turning potatoes as needed. Cook until butter and sugar begin to thicken and brown and potatoes are fork tender.
