Oh wow, making that Red Hot Candy Apple Jelly Recipe made me think of this of this hot spiced cider recipe I got from my friend Heidi a few years back. It is so easy and will fill your house with the smell of the holidays and warm your family and friends with each sip. The hardest part is finding the Red Hots but they more easily found during the holidays and I found them on the candy aisle at Walmart with the movie theater size boxed candies. Grab a bunch because you will want to make more. No need to run out and hunt down a bunch of spices!
If you like my Redneck Wine glass (no this ain’t spiked) my other crafty friend Daphne is making these, just let me know if you want to order some, aren’t they cute? ….just send me an email shelley@groundbeefbudget.com
I have that Redneck Wine Glass sitting on a mug rug made by me, they are so easy to make and would be wonderful handmade Christmas gifts. I will share some ideas on here soon with them.
Ingredients:
1 Large jug of Apple Cider or Apple Juice
1 box or bag of Red Hot Candies
Instructions:
Warm up the apple cider/apple juice on the stove top in a large sauce pan. Add the red hots to suit your taste. ( as they dissolve you will see a gritty substance floating on top…don’t worry it will dissolve as it heats up. Once the candies are all melted it’s ready to serve. You can keep this warm in a crock pot and your house will smell like the holidays.
*Apple juice is easier on the budget and more readily available and longer shelf life.
